David B. Summer, M.D. is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology.
He is a graduate of the University of Michigan and Wayne State University
School of Medicine. Dr. Summer completed his internship and residency
in ophthalmology at Sinai Hospital of Detroit. He served as Chief
of Surgery and Ophthalmology at Mt. Vernon Hospital. Dr. Summer
specializes in no stitch cataract surgery and laser refractive surgery.
He has served on the editorial board of the National Society to
Prevent Blindness. He is listed among the top medical specialists
in the Washington area by the Washingtonian Magazine and the Washington
Consumers Checkbook.

Mark J. Schefkind, M.D. is a board certified ophthalmologist. He
is a Magna Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Tufts University,
and an AOA graduate of the University of Pennsylvania School of
Medicine. Dr. Schefkind served his residency in ophthalmology at
the Scheie Eye Institute of the University of Pennsylvania. He is
Chief of Ophthalmology at Mt. Vernon Hospital and specializes in
no stitch cataract surgery and refractive surgery including PRK
and LASIK.

I. Braun, M.D., M.P.H.
Christina I. Braun, M.D., M.P.H. is a board certified ophthalmologist
and a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Duke University. Dr. Braun received
a joint degree in medical school, a Doctorate of Medicine from the
University of Virginia and a Masters of Public Health from Harvard
University. She served her internship at Georgetown University and
residency in ophthalmology at the University of Virginia. Dr. Braun
completed fellowships at the National Institutes of Health and Harvard
University in glaucoma. She is pleased to return to Northern Virginia
where she was born and raised. Dr. Braun specializes in cataract,
glaucoma and laser refractive surgery.
